Ramakunja, a beautiful tiny village in puttur taluk, has made its mark on our country’s map as the birth place of Sri Vishwesha Thirtha Swamiji of Sri Pejavar Mutt, Udupi. His Holiness was born here in 27 April 1931 to become a national, even a world figure later. It is also noteworthy that Sri Swamiji spent his early childhood days here in a modest rural house. and had his initial education here.
The Gurukula style educational institutions, inaugurated here some 90 years ago, have ushered in a new era of knowledge and learning here. Now they have reshaped themselves into modern educational institutions, preserving their Sanskrit roots and ancient cultural back ground.
Shri Ramakunjeshwara English Medium High School is one of them. Functioning under the holy guidance of Sri Pejawara Swamiji, the institution has made great achievements in the educational and cultural fields. “English for communication, whatever the medium, Indian culture should be our priority.” is our motto. Being a residential school, it is offering opportunities of education to the local students as well as the students of faraway districts and states. The residential facility is provided to the P.U. students as well.
Donation – free education to deserving students, equal weightage to curricular and extra-curricular activities, special coaching to the students coming from Kannada Medium schools continuous and consistent contact with the parents, are our highlights. 100% results in all the years from the start, may reflect our excellence.
